No. 369 (revised)

No. 369 and Inv. 9841 were written on the same day, and Inv. 9843 slightly more than a month earlier. Inv. 9841 and 9843 not only were written by a single hand, but also appear to have been issued to the same person-Seuthes, the son of Ptolemy, by occupation a wine-merchant. On Phamenoth 8, ten days after Inv. 9843 and twenty-three days before NO. 369 and Inv. 9841, No. 368 was produced by the same scribe for Pleein, the son of Mysthes.48

This text is extremely difficult to see on the ostracon, not to speak of reading. To judge from the photograph, since the ostracon is not available,49 the surface is worn and rough and the ink almost entirely faded (Pl. X, 2). In consequence, the editor has provided only a partial text, which he has placed among a large group of lists of liturgical workers. His text, however, is worth repeating because it provides the clue for an adequate revision.
