The "text file" is a GIF screendump of the transcribed text written
under the Mac Arabic OS and can be requested in the text format by
email from me.

The sound bytes are 11 khz recordings of the start, middle and end of
the song sampled on a Mac and converted to SUN format with sox via a
Next. The soundfiles can be played with the SUN utility
/usr/demo/SOUND/play or converted and played on virtually any machine
with sound capabilities. Play takes the option -v for volume on a
range of 0 - 100. 

These are binary files DON'T FORGET TO FTP WITH BINARY FORMAT ON.


Alatlal was Um Kalthoum's favorite song. It is composed by Riad
Elsnbati with lyrics by Ibrahim Naji.
