Um Kalthoum Soundbytes info umkalthoumsndbyte1.snd & umkalthoumsndbyte2.snd These soundbytes are 7 khz recordings of portions of songs sampled on a Mac and converted to SUN format with sox via a Next. The soundfiles can be played with the SUN utility /usr/demo/SOUND/play or converted and played on virtually any machine with sound capabilities. Play takes the option -v for volume on a range of 0 - 100. These are binary files DON'T FORGET TO FTP WITH BINARY FORMAT ON. Both portions are recorded from the interview made with Um Kalthoum before she died in 1975.
