Beirut Central District
CANAANITE JAR BURIAL. A small girl died 3800 years ago in the
Bronze Age fortified city of Beirut. She was buried in a storage jar,
wearing a necklace of gold and carnelian beads and accompanied by
other funerary offerings for the afterlife. (AUB Museum excavations
