PHOENICAN BEIRUT. The 3,000 year old city was fortified by a
rampart of boulders, the extension of whith has been revealed by
excavations at the northern end of Martyrs' Square conducted by the
AUB Museum, the Lebanese University and AUB with the University of
Tubingen.
