An Arabic manuscript:

[قرآن كريم [جزء من قرآن كريم

Qur'an from Konya

A Qur'an section produced in Konya, Anatolia (MS:297.122:K84quA) dated A.H. 845 / A.D. 1441, is rare since very few illuminated manuscripts have survived from the early Ottoman period before the conquest of Constantinople. What is of great interest here is that the waqf inscription refers to the city of Konya in Anatolia where the manuscript was probably produced. Furthermore a study of the motifs and the colour pigments shows us how the art of illumination evolved and flourished in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
