Al Badia Embroideries is a commercial outlet for traditional Palestinian embroidery made by women in the refugee camps of Lebanon. Al Badia is the first of the Association Najdeh's self-help development projects started after the massacre of the Tel el-Za'tar refugee camp in east Beirut in 1976. Al Badia's products are an important source of income for women in the refugee camps who work either at home or at workshops set up as part of the Nejdeh embroidery project. There are workshops and working groups in the Ein El Helweh (Sidon), Rashidiyeh (Tyre), Bared & Baddawi in Tripoli, Shatila in Beirut, Mieh Mieh in Sidon and Borj El Shemali & Buss in Tyre.

Al Badia offer a range of articles including cushion covers, table covers, napkins, wall hangings, bags and purses, scarves and shals, skirts, blouses, vest and waistcoats for men, abayas and traditional Palestinian dresses. An extensive stock of articles is available and special items can be made to order.
