PUMP STATIONS |

Main pumping units at the pump stations are equipped with Byron Jackson centrifugal pumps, driven by Westinghouse steam turbines or Worthington supercharged diesel engines through Falk speed increasers. Generator units at the pump station are three 800 kilowatt, 2300-volt, 60-cycle, General Electric generators driven by 1320 horsepower Worthington diesel engines. |
Booster pumps are Pacific vertical pumps driven by 400 horsepower electric motors or Byron Jackson single stage horizontal pumps driven by 200 horsepower General Electric electric motors. Each station has family and bachelor housing and planned facilities include air conditioning and refrigeration plants, recreation halls, infirmaries, dining rooms, tennis courts, baseball fields, movies, radio programs and playgrounds. |
