It hardly needs be said that carrying radio messages, 600 miles with a low-powered transmitter on the 75-meter band would be considered out of the question in the United States, and in fact that it can be done at all in Arabia Is very remarkable. However, the radio equipment was being pushed completely beyond its capacity for satisfactory performance, and all members of the party were much impressed with the urgent necessity of establishing entirely satisfactory radio communication all along the route when the pipe line is built. This communication should be established at the time of the survey and before any actual construction is undertaken at all.
