Taking off from Duwaid, the flight followed the route indicated on Maps 2 and 3. As far as could be determined, the route along the Nefud was feasible. Figs, 39 and 40 indicate the nature of the country, the latter looking toward Jauf at the southern end of the Wadi Sirhan. This town is apparently surrounded by quite extensive palm gardens. Sakaka to said to be larger and is the residence of the Amir for this entire country, but does not show as well in the photograph, since it was farther away (see map).
