The date of June 1995 is now January 1995. This means archeologists have to speed up. This does not mean that the Suk area is lost for research, it means that archeologists have to take into account the plans of the developer after Januari 1995. This means that there may be a plan for constructing a road, the archeologists have to do the site where the road is going to be build first and leave areas without urgent plans for later. > when we "know" that ancient Berytus lie in the cleared area, why > not use this opportunity to excavate? Properly. If bulldozers are > necessesary for excavations, good use them. At the moment 5 teams are involved in this salvage operation, for 1995 more teams are expected to participate. Solidere is covering all local costs. What else should Solidere do, there budget and involvemnet till now is an exaple for developpers througout the world... HHC
