standpoint. In some ways it might be advantageous as compared to the northern route since most of it would be across reasonably stable sand, rather than hard rock and the pipe could, if desired, be buried. On the other hand, hauling would unquestionably be more of a problem and worst of all, the Aramco geological staff is quite skeptical of the possibility of developing water along this route. Mr. Duce at one time suggested that it might be advantageous to route a pipe line along the Nefud to the south of the Wadi Sirahn near Jauf, and to enter Palestine along this Wadi, thus perhaps avoiding the Lava beds. This suggestion has not been Investigated.
