SHIP-SHORE CHECK LIST

ADDITIONAL ADVICE

NOTES: 1. SHIPS' MASTERS MUST TAKE ALL POSSIBLE PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID CONTAMINATION OF THE SEA NEAR LEBANON. NO DIRTY BALLAST NOR BILGES MAY BE DISCHARGED WITHIN 100 MILES OF THE COAST UNDER LEBANESE LAW. ANY SPILLAGE OF OIL OR ANY DISCHARGE OF DIRTY BALLAST OR BILGES MAY SUBJECT THE VESSEL TO GOVERNMENTAL PENALTIES AS WELL AS TO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED.
2. Valves on board ship should not close against loading stream.
3. Oil leaks in the hull must be immediately controlled or repaired to avoid sea contamination.
4. The ship's Master is requested to take all possible precautions to prevent unauthorized persons from boarding his vessel while at Tapline's Sidon Terminal.
5. The presence of small craft, except Tapline Mooring Launch, alongside the ship while loading is being carried out, must be avoided as much as possible.
6. The safety measures on this check list are in addition to the current port regulations.
A CONTINUOUS BLAST ON SHIP'S WHISTLE IS THE EMERGENCY SIGNAL TO STOP LOADING.
