the said road from Qaisumah to Turaif and undertakes to maintain such road in a good state of repair. In consideration of GOVERNMENT's undertaking to maintain the said road from Qaisumah to Turaif in a good state of repair, TAPLINE will pay to GOVERNMENT at the end of each calendar year commencing with the year in which GOVERNMENT assumes the obligation of maintenance of the road as aforesaid the sum of Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars ($500,000).
