Sidon in Lebanon - 1951 to 1970

Capt. Ludvigsen was a mooring master (ship's pilot) at Tapline's Zahrani terminal from 1951 til 1970. He was one of a group of mainly European mooring masters whose job it was to board the oil tankers, pilot them into one of the 5 (later 4) loading berths, supervise the loading and then take the ship back out to sea.

Details of the mooring and loading procedures are set out in the Port Information and Rules.
